WORKING TOGETHER - Delivering for Health, Enabling Care

This was held on Friday 2nd November 2007 at the South Hall Complex , Pollock Halls, University of Edinburgh between 9.45 am and 4.00 pm.

Conference Theme

The theme of the conference is Working Together - Delivering Health, Enabling Care. The primary aim is to raise awareness and enhance a co-ordinated approach across the Allied Health Professions and AHP Educators in working together and with other members of the health care team such as nurses, midwives, social workers and the voluntary sector.

This inter-agency theme has been well recognised by Kathleen Henderson (AHPFS Convener) who stated:
"The theme of the conference is "Working Together" and although the conference is primarily aimed at raising awareness and enhancing a co-ordinated approach across the Allied Heath Professions and AHP Educators, it is of equal importance that this approach continues in multidisciplinary and interagency working. Having nurses and midwives joining us at the conference will help us to share our thinking as we take forward the Nursing, Midwifery and AHP agendas as reflected in "Delivering Care Enabling Health" and other national strategies."

We believe that working together will allow all to effectively engage with the strategy, and understand the vision behind, “Delivering Care, Enabling Health” and other initiatives such as the Delivery Framework for Adult Rehabilitation in Scotland. Although each individual profession is unique, we can only benefit from collaboration in relation to capability, capacity and culture.
